Giant solar roof

A giant solar roof has been built for the Mont-Cenis academy in Germany, it can produce up to 700.000 kWh of electrical power. This is the biggest solar roof at this day in the world.

The pictures shown on the treehuger web site (the akademie one seems broken today) are interesting: the roof lets some part of the solar beams going down under the roof on which solar cells are installed, the light seems thus smooth.

More energy than needed by the site is produced, the neighbourhood is getting the exceeding part of it, good idea.
